About Us

Project Somali is a community organisation based in Birmingham which started in 2014. In brief, our mission is to develop Somali women based in Birmingham, and we do this through specific project work.

Before Project Somali started, there were no women-led organisations in Birmingham for Somali women.  Project Somali is led by women, and supports and empowers women to take responsibility for their own development and empowerment.

We are based in what we call the “Education Centre” in Small Heath, Birmingham.  Small Heath has the largest Somali community in Birmingham, and our centre has become a social hub for Somali women, enabling them to support each other regularly.
